1. HOW DO I FINISH THE UNPAINTED METAL MINIATURES?

Remove flash (excess metal) with a small fine file, sharp knife, emery board and/or fine sandpaper. Wear a dust mask while sanding and wear gloves as well. These MM contain LEAD. Wash parts in a warm mild detergent such as diluted Palmolive Green liquid (or equal). Dry them thoroughly and they are ready to finish with the primer and paint of your choice. If you desire a super smooth finish, the cast metal parts can be polished with #000 steel wool prior to washing and painting. Again, wear a dust mask. Any primer and paint (acrylics, enamels & lacquers) will work well. "hobby" and "Craft" paints are excellent since they are available in large color selections. They are sold in small containers and spray cans. Some name brands are Floquil, Polly S, Humbrol, Illinois Bronze, Pactra and Testors. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling unpainted MM.

2. DO YOU MAKE THE METAL MINIATURES YOURSELF?

No, I buy the cast metal miniatures from 3 different companies. They come unpainted.

3. DO YOU PAINT THE METAL MINIATURES?

Yes, I paint them using primarily Floquil paints. I like to use solvent based paints as they are more durable. Floquil is made especially for metal miniatures.

No.

5. ARE THE METAL MINIATURES SAFE FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY WITH?

No, they are not recommended for children. Metal miniatures are quite small and so would pose a choking hazard to children. They contain lead. So please wash your hands thoroughly after handling them (before they are painted) or wear gloves. Avoid inhaling lead dust when removing flash or sanding. Keep them out of the reach of children. Use all precautions necessary for handling lead based items.

6. WHAT IS INVOLVED IN FINISHING THE PAPER KITS?

You will need to cut them out and either fold them and glue the sides for boxes or glue labels onto bottles and cans. It is very easy, though you do need a sharp pair of scissors.

6. WHAT IS INVOLVED IN FINISHING THE PLASTIC KITS?

Mainly you have to remove the flash from the pieces, paint them and sometimes glue pieces together. They come much like plastic model cars and have to be finished similarly.
